A scissor lift is essentially an industrial lift which has traditionally been used for heavy duty work, such as raising and lowering people, heavy pieces of work, and materials. The industrial lift, when amended to be operated in retail and wholesale environments, has been rechristened "scissor lift". Simply put, a scissor lift is a platform with wheels, and which functions exactly like a forklift.
